The key to the new building for Erlenhof care centre was to organise the wide-ranging reception and care programme for the 52 residents efficiently and in a small space. Visitors enter the foyer through the invitingly designed entrance. The residents spend their days in the homely dayroom leading from the courtyard, the generous windows connecting optically with the attractively laid-out inner garden.The ground floor was renovated after more than a quarter of a century of use. Besides the technical renovation, all surfaces were also renewed. Only the flooring, an early representative of a resin-bound cast stone was included in the new design. The variety of ceilings with their different lighting systems highlights originality and the identity of the entrance, foyer and dayroom. The white roughcast walls were finely smoothed and painted according to a concept for the whole room.
